Goole And District M.C.C |
|
The Goole and District M.C.C. is a successful club with around thirty members at present (most of who have become firm friends). We are a group of people who share a common interest in motorcycles and motorcycling related events. It is not necessary to own a bike to be a member, as in recent years the events that we organise have expanded to most anything you can think of, from Paint Ball to exhibitions. |

History |
|
We are not the first motorcycle club to bear the name. There was a Goole and District M.C.C. in the 1930's. At the end of 1992 the present Goole and District M.C.C. was born, and in 1993 we organised our first rally at the Ferryboat pub, it was an instant success, we also started to collect money for charity and did regular rides out to the hospital with toys at Christmas. Over the following years the membership grew and the club led by an elected committee had increased its yearly events to a rally, a bonfire night party, a christmas party and an Easter egg ride to the Disney childrens ward at Scunthorpe. It was at one of the rallies held in Adlingfleet that the club was christened with its better known nick name 'The Wobbly Goolies'. At this particular rally we had decided to have our own bitter brewed for us, the name of the brew was the Wobbly Goolie beer and believe me, a few pints made any Goolie (or non-Goolie) wobble. Thus the name stuck. |

The club is run on an informal basis with members volunteering to look after various basic aspects of running it on a yearly basis. Anyone can suggest an event for the club, and the club will support it. The only requisite is that the person who suggests the event plays a part in organising it. Financial requirements are agreed by general consensus at meetings. The club is now very relaxed and yet effective. We have all become good friends with not only motorcycles in common, but also a will to have a good time. |
